2025 Dry Apricot Crop Outlook – TAK Dry Fruit Company

The 2025 apricot harvest season is just beginning across Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and early forecasts point to a year of excellent quality but varied supply. While volumes differ by region due to climate and market dynamics, buyers can expect strong opportunities across all origins if they act early.

Afghanistan – Strong Quality, Lower Volumes

Afghanistan is set to deliver some of the brightest and cleanest apricots in recent years. The season will begin around June 25–30, with an estimated 15,000–20,000 tons available across all varieties.

  • Quality: Significantly improved over last year

  • Color Mix: 60–70% Yellow, 30–40% Orange & Red

  • Key Insight: High local demand for fresh apricots means less fruit is being dried. Early procurement will be essential.

At TAK Dry Fruit Company, we are actively sourcing fresh apricots for in-house drying to ensure a consistent supply.

Tajikistan – High Quality, Limited Supply

Tajikistan remains a trusted origin for both yellow and darker apricots. The crop outlook shows high quality, but volumes are limited at 40,000–60,000 tons.

  • Color Mix: 30–40% Yellow, 60–70% Orange & Red

  • Key Insight: Limited volumes are creating strong competition among buyers, making early engagement critical.

Uzbekistan – Reliable Source for Darker Apricots

Uzbekistan continues to be a dependable supplier of orange and red apricots, with production in line with historical trends at 30,000–40,000 tons.

  • Quality: Consistent with past seasons

  • Color Mix: Predominantly Orange & Red, with less Yellow compared to Afghanistan and Tajikistan

  • Key Insight: A stable option for buyers focused on darker hues, with the season beginning after June 20.

Conclusion

Overall, the 2025 dry apricot season offers promising quality but moderate volumes across Central Asia.

  • Buyers seeking yellow apricots will find better opportunities in Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

  • Those looking for orange to red apricots should focus on Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

📌 Recommendation: To secure supply and avoid shortages, we advise buyers to engage early and consider forward contracts.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
