Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan – July 2026

TAK Dry Fruit Company was honored to welcome Alexander De Croo, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Barham Salih, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to our production facility in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan.

The visit highlighted the important role that Afghanistan's private sector plays in creating sustainable employment opportunities, supporting economic recovery, and helping returning refugees rebuild their lives. During the visit, the delegation toured our production lines, met with our management team and employees, and learned how international partnerships are strengthening Afghanistan's agricultural value chains.

Creating Opportunities Through Employment

Today, approximately half of TAK's workforce consists of Afghan returnees who have come back to Afghanistan seeking new opportunities. Through stable employment, professional training, and long-term career development, these employees are rebuilding their futures while supporting their families and contributing to their communities.

We believe that meaningful employment is one of the most effective ways to promote dignity, stability, and economic resilience.

Every Purchase Creates Impact

When customers choose TAK products, they are doing more than purchasing premium Afghan dried fruits.

They are supporting:

  • Sustainable employment for Afghan returnees.

  • Local farmers and agricultural communities.

  • Economic recovery through private sector development.

  • Responsible and ethical sourcing from Afghanistan.

Every shipment exported by TAK contributes to creating livelihoods and strengthening communities across the country.

A Partnership for Sustainable Development

We are grateful for the continued support and collaboration of UNDP and UNHCR in promoting inclusive economic growth and helping Afghan businesses expand their capacity.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of partnerships between international organizations and the private sector in creating lasting opportunities for Afghan families while demonstrating the global potential of Afghanistan's agricultural products.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
